GSF shares optimism for aftermarket following Budget
28th November 2025: GSF Car Parts, the UK’s fastest-growing motor factor, has commented on the Autumn Budget announced on Wednesday, saying it is optimistic for the automotive aftermarket.
The Budget included a host of implications for the sector, including an electric vehicle tax to be introduced in 2028. GSF has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting hard-working independent garages following the government’s announcements.
Steve Horne, CEO at GSF Car Parts, said: “The introduction of a mileage-based tax for electric vehicles from 2028 is a pivotal moment for the UK automotive market. While designed to address falling fuel duty revenues, the OBR’s forecast of 440,000 fewer EV sales over five years signals a slower transition to electrification. For the aftermarket, this means ICE vehicles will remain on the road longer, creating sustained demand for traditional parts and maintenance.
“GSF is committed to supporting both existing and new technologies to the fullest extent possible with parts, consumables, equipment, training and business support. We will remain laser-focused on customer requirements and on supporting garages, working proactively with our global supply chain to stay ahead of market changes. This approach ensures garages and consumers have everything they need to keep older vehicles safe and reliable while embracing emerging technologies.
“The future is exciting, and GSF is ready to lead the way – helping our partners thrive in a rapidly evolving automotive landscape.”
