GSF-backed Lewis Turkington set for historic debut in BMW Car Club GB
16th October 2026: GSF is excited to announce that racing driver Lewis Turkington will proudly race alongside his four-time BTCC champion father Colin Turkington at Donington Park on 17th and 18th October.
Inspired by his father’s motorsport career, 16-year-old Lewis began his own racing journey just a few years ago, starting out on the grass ovals before progressing into junior circuit racing, with the ambition of carrying on the family legacy. The 750 Motor Club meeting at Donington Park will mark the first time father and son have shared a circuit as fellow competitors. The pair will be sharing a BMW 325ti E46.
The format will see them compete in a 45-minute driver-share race on Saturday before lining up on the same grid in separate BMW machinery on Sunday.
Just a week later, Lewis will take part in the Birkett six-hour endurance race at Silverstone to prepare for the 2027 season.
Having raced with GSF backing throughout the 2026 season, Lewis will once again carry the distinctive ‘Do Yourself Proud’ branding for this landmark appearance.
Lewis’ most recent success came with a stunning second-place finish at Silverstone last month. The result underlined his potential as a serious contender with exciting prospects ahead, representing a memorable high point on which to close out the season.
Lewis Turkington said: “I’m fully focused on making the most of this opportunity over the next two weeks and ready to learn as much as I can from the experience. Racing with my dad has been a lifelong dream, and to share the grid with him this weekend is something special.
“The Donington Park event is a one-off event for us and the format will help me prepare for what’s to come next year. Thank you to GSF for their continued support, and I’ll be pushing hard to make myself, the team and my sponsors proud.”
